Hot! 5pm Introduces New Combined Filter

Project reporting is one of the activities that the project manager needs to be really on the ball with to ensure the right 5pmlogoinformation is being communicated out to the team and stakeholders.  Being able to concentrate on selected project information at any point in time is essential for the project manager.

A comprehensive project plan for a complex project can have hundreds or even thousands of tasks, to give a complete picture.  But for tracking and monitoring purposes, that amount of detail can sometimes be more of a hindrance than a help.  Using 5pm it is helpful to be able to home in on those tasks of interest at a particular point in time rather than being swamped by everything!

To help with this 5pm has combined its ‘Active’ filter with the ‘Auto-archive’ filter to produce a single filter that lets its userspm screen simply hide those items that are not needed and concentrate on those that are needed.  This new feature update makes it quite clear when the filter is in use.  The previous Active filter would show only active projects and tasks whilst hiding those that are either closed or on hold.  The previous Auto-archive filter which would hide projects and tasks that had been closed for a specified number of days, leaving more recently closed ones visible.  5pm correctly felt that using the term ‘archive’ in the filter’s name was in fact, mis-leading as there was no archive activity that took place.

The new combined filter is now available at the top of the left pane in the 5pm screen.
