Hot! Recent Additions to the Apollo Functionality

  • Sharebar

Apollo is one of the newer collaborative project management applications available over the cloud.  Apollo has recently announced some additions to its suite of Apollo recent additions contactfunctionality:

Attaching a contact to a project:  a much-requested addition is the ability to attach a single contact from the address book to a project to show who the project belongs to. Creating a link to an address book contact can now be done through the Settings area of the project.

Once the link is created, the allocated contact’s name will appear on the right hand side of the project’s activity tab.  This new functionality also means that a user can see all of the projects that a particular contact is linked to.  In addition, the project overview also now allows users to group projects by the contact to which they are linked!

Tracking file revisions in Apollo projects: Most of the current breed of online project management systems allow document and file upload and provide storage for centralized access. Not all, however, provide version management. Apollo has now introduced the ability to upload different versions of the same file to allow the important history of the document’s revisions to be kept.  It’s worth noting, though, that those files that are specifically attached to comments and messages still do not have revisions as it was felt that users will typically attach a new version of a file for discussion in each comment.

Inclusion of HTML emails: When Apollo was first created, the team made the decision to create its useful notification emails, without the use of HTML, to try to get the associated benefits of sticking with simple text-based messages (no problems with formatting, or spam filters, and text messages are much easier to create, for example).   They do, however, look plain and uninteresting and feedback from users has clearly shown that users want something that looks better!  With this in mind, Apollo has now introduced HTML emails.
