Hot! Sam’s Teach Yourself Basecamp

  • Sharebar

I woke up this morning with the sun shining. I live in Southwest Florida, but unfortunately, the weather has been a little weird lately. It’s been an uncommonly long – and cold – winter. With lots of overcast/rainy days.

But, TODAY that has all changed.

It’s warmer than it’s been in months (it’s High Noon as I write this, and it’s 78 degrees and perfectly sunny). I don’t write this to make any northerners jealous (I used to BE one), I write this to underscore the making of a perfect day.

FOR TODAY MY FRIENDS (insert John McCain reference) my Sam’s Teach Yourself Basecamp in 10 Minutes book arrived! To be honest I’m a little concerned about the 10 minute part… it’s a decent sized book (over 200 pages) I doubt I can do this in 10 minutes.

What?! That’s right, I got a book in the mother-F-ing mail. Go ahead say it out loud with me.

Okay, I’m not that excited, but I am pretty excited. You see, I have been a web professional going on 15 years, and I heard that blogging could bring good things. I’ve seen it make sales for my clients. I’ve had a number of blogs throughout my career, but they were mostly personal. I created a site called “TheNapkin.com – cleaning up the Internet” where I would discuss web develop/internet marketing, but after years of writing, and little/no response (although a healthy amount of traffic) I dropped it.

But, this blog has already gained notoriety and has opened up many doors. One of which involves Pearson Education (the publisher of Sam’s) and the book you see on your right. A representative contacted me a few weeks ago about doing a book review. I said I would. And I will.

And despite the fact that I received this book for free, the review will be a no-holds-barred judgement. I don’t generally like to judge, but I will be giving my honest opinion on the pages and the words, and perhaps even the pictures. Because you care what I think?

Right?

Stayed tuned for the book review and a give-away!
