Hot! Wrike Introduces New Local Backup Feature

Wrike has recently announced the introduction of its new backup facility that lets its users save a local copy of their work.  Recognizing that its online project management application is an integral part of their clients day to day business, storing important and essential information, that if they were without it, could cause their business significant problems, the local backup gives clients the absolute peace of mind that their data is safe.

WrikeWrike already operates a comprehensive backup program that works through the real time replication of the database, meaning that their customers’ Wrike-based information is backed up almost every second, so the opportunity for actually losing any data is minimal and should only occur under extreme circumstances.  Wrike takes security seriously and understands the importance of protecting their clients’ information.  Security works in a number of different ways:

  • User access control: user authentication, access rights, recovery of deleted information and data sharing and privacy
  • Physical security: with servers hosted in trusted datacenters, performing continuous data backups and over 99% uptime demonstrated
  • Network security: 256-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) security to encrypt the data

That said, data backed up on a remote internet-based server is only available when the internet connection is available so new this local backup facility means that your Wrike data can be there on your own servers, if needed.

To use the new backup facility, you need to be a Wrike account administrator.  To activate the backup, click on your name that appears in the top right corner of your workspace and this will take you to the account settings page.  Choose the Account management tab and once there, simply click the ‘Backup’ button to store a copy of all the information that is shared with you through Wrike, on your local system – it’s simple!

Combined with the already existing ability to export Wrike information into Excel format, users of Wrike can now be sure they have all their information to hand in the format that they need it.
